NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) is an advanced form of massage that goes beyond treating the symptoms of pain and stiffness and finds and corrects the root causes of your discomfort. It can treat pain in the lower back, neck, shoulders, or anywhere in your body where muscles can be found.
NKT is unlike standard massage, chiropractic care, physical therapy or acupuncture, although it makes an excellent compliment to them all. NKT is a new, proven way of assessing and correcting dysfunctional coordination, movement and postural problems at the client’s motor control level.
Your body responds to trauma in a very basic and instinctive way – by tightening certain muscles while inhibiting others in response to accidents or injuries, over-use, over-training or even bad ergonomics, creating a compensation pattern. This is a natural occurrence, and it helps protect your body in the short term. Over time, however, these patterns can lead to persistent muscular soreness and stiffness, loss of strength and function, and eventually to more serious bio-mechanical issues.
NKT directly addresses these unconscious coordination patterns by accessing your natural neuro-muscular learning ability. NKT uses light, specific manual muscle testing techniques to isolate the patterns, combined with targeted massage and stretching to correct them. The tightened muscles are relaxed and released from these patterns, and the inhibited muscles are then brought back to their full potential. The result: quick, long lasting relief from pain, stiffness and dysfunction, in a way that other modalities cannot offer.
Can NKT help you? Every case is different. NKT does not address every possible problem, but those that it does, it addresses far more comprehensively than any other modality out there. I am happy to discuss your particular case over the phone at no charge, to see if NKT can help. Call me at 323-687-5333, and let's discuss what I can do for you.
